Terms of Service
By using MolForge you agree to these terms.
1. Purpose and scope
MolForge (molforge.ai) is an AI-native molecular discovery platform that provides cheminformatics, patent intelligence, polymer compatibility, and drug-target analytics. The service is intended for research and educational use only.
2. No medical advice
MolForge is not intended for clinical decision-making, diagnosis, treatment, or any direct patient-care use. All predictions are AI-generated and informational; they require experimental validation before any real-world application. Do not use MolForge as the sole basis for any pharmaceutical, regulatory, or commercial decision.
3. No legal advice
The IP Radar, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and patent landscape reports are AI-generated informational tools. They are not legal advice. Consult a registered patent attorney before acting on any FTO verdict, white-space recommendation, or competitive intelligence finding produced by the platform.
4. Account and access
Access is provided via Firebase Authentication (Google sign-in). You are responsible for the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Misuse — including circumvention of credit metering, scraping, or attempts to reverse-engineer the AI pipelines — may result in account suspension.
5. Credits and billing
Compute-intensive operations (Gemini calls, Vertex AI training jobs, BigQuery scans, AlphaFold predictions, FTO scoring) are metered via the credits system. Charges are atomic and idempotent (per-operation X-Idempotency-Key). Refunds are issued automatically on operation failure; manual refund requests can be filed via support.
6. Data sources and licensing
MolForge integrates third-party datasets under their respective licenses:
- PubChem (NCBI) — public domain
- UniProt SwissProt — CC BY 4.0
- ChEMBL — CC BY-SA 3.0
- DrugCentral — CC BY-SA 4.0
- AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (EMBL-EBI / DeepMind) — CC BY 4.0
- Open Targets — CC0 1.0
- RxNorm / UMLS — UMLS license required (held by MolForge)
- Google Patents (Public Datasets) — Google Public Data Terms
Derived analyses (claim extractions, FTO verdicts, drug briefs, polymer scores) are produced by MolForge and made available under the platform's standard usage terms.
7. Intellectual property
The MolForge software, models, prompts, and platform infrastructure are owned by MolForge. Third-party datasets retain their original licensing. User-submitted briefs (research prompts, proposed product descriptions) remain the property of the submitting user; MolForge does not claim rights over user content but does retain anonymized aggregated metrics for product improvement.
8. Confidentiality
The user's proposed_product field on FTO scans contains confidential R&D strategy. It is stored per-uid only and never shared cross-user. The patent claim extraction cache (patent_claim_extractions) is global because it is derived from public patent text.
9. Service availability
MolForge runs on Google Cloud Run with a multi-region failover plan in development. The platform is provided "as is" without uptime SLA in the current Beta phase. Scheduled maintenance windows are posted at molforge.ai/status.
10. Limitations of liability
MolForge is not liable for damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated outputs, third-party dataset errors, service outages, or misinterpretation of patent / FTO analyses. Maximum aggregate liability is limited to credits purchased in the 12 months prior to the claim.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be communicated by email to active accounts and announced on the blog. Continued use after a posted update constitutes acceptance.
